Robocall
An automated call delivering a prerecorded message, and the largest single source of consumer phone complaints.
Robocalls are dialled and delivered by software. Some are lawful, such as appointment reminders or outage notices with consent. Most complaints concern the rest: scams, spoofed caller ID, and unsolicited sales.
Consumer complaints are published by regulators, which makes it possible to build a spam-reputation score from official data rather than crowd-sourced guesses. Our phone spam engine draws on complaint records covering hundreds of thousands of numbers.
For an inbound call centre, a reputation score is a routing input. For an outbound one, a poor score on your own numbers is a warning that carriers may already be labelling your calls.
